The “Menace” will be making his first appearance at the Town Moor track on Saturday, April 02 to take part in a ‘9 Dart Challenge’ competition where guests will be able to throw nine arrows on the day, in the hope of achieving a high enough score for the chance to play against the former double World Champion in a pro–amateur contest.

First prize for one lucky race-goer, having competed against Priestley, will be a pair of tickets to attend the Betway Premier League Darts in Sheffield on April 07.

The darts legend is renowned for being the first darts player to win both the BDO and WDC (now PDC) world championships, in 1991 and 1994 respectively. He is nicknamed "The Menace", after the cartoon character Dennis the Menace, and reflects this by wearing red and black, and using red and black flights.

The Betway Lincoln, a famous Heritage Handicap over a straight mile, will see seven races take place across the opening day, with the first race getting started at 1.40pm. Racegoers will also be able to stay behind to enjoy some evening musical entertainment from top impersonator, Elvis2.

On the second day of the Lincoln weekend, (Sunday April 03), families will also be able to enjoy a spring day out as part of the racecourse’s first family themed event of the year at the Easter Family Fun Day. Admission is free for children and there will be entertainment for all the family including fairground rides, a colouring competition, kids disco, Doncaster’s favourite Mr Dan and much more.

Kieran Gallagher, executive director at Doncaster Racecourse, said: “Following the popularity of previous dart challenges at the racecourse, we are really looking forward to welcoming Dennis Priestley for an afternoon of darts-fuelled fun.
