Police have confirmed they are not treating the death of a man found in the River Don as suspicious
At around 12.45pm on Tuesday officers discovered the body of a man in the river close to Grey Friars’ Bridge off Church View in Doncaster.
The identity of the man has not yet been confirmed.
Firefighters with a rescue boat were seen on the scene along with and police and forensic officers.
Police officers re-directed traffic on Grey Friars’ Bridge in the hours following the discovery.
A spokesman from South Yorkshire Police confirmed they are not treating the death as suspicious.
The incident comes three months after the body of a man, named on social media as Jason Taylor, was found in the River Don.
Friends of Mr Taylor, who was believed to be in his 40s, said he was homeless at the time of his death.
