Dearne cyclists are being urged to donate their old bikes for an art project in Barnsley to help celebrate the Tour de France visiting the town this summer.
Some of the world’s top cyclists will pass through the borough for Le Grand Depart on July 6.
To celebrate, Barnsley Council intends to dress the town centre with decorated old bikes. The cycles will be revealed on March 27 – the start of a 100-day cultural festival. Bikes can be dropped off at Barnsley Markets offices. Call 01226 775746 to arrange a time.
