Danum Eagles beat Kingston Panthers to stay top of Division Four North

Danum Eagles inflicted only a second defeat on Kingston Panthers to stay top of NBL Division Four North.

The Doncaster club ran out 76-56 winners at Sir Thomas Wharton College to move their record onto 6-1 for the season.

They have a two-point lead at the top of the table ahead of Newcastle Eagles U23s.

Eagles charged out of the blocks against the third-placed Panthers and forged a good lead early on.

The hosts maintained that advantage until the last couple minutes of the first half when Panthers went on a 15-2 run to close the gap to just two points at the halfway stage.

Eagles regained control in the second half and pulled away to complete a comfortable 20-point win against their Hull-based opposition.

George Colwill starred with 27 points, while Oliver Hyland (20) and Josh Metcalf (19) also impressed.

Head coach Bob Martin said: 'This was another great team performance by the Eagles.

'We've done well to start the season so impressively and the objective now is stay at the top of the table.'
