Cusworth 10k: Milburn flies the flag for Doncaster Athletic Club

Doncaster Athletic Club's Lee Milburn flew the flag for the promoting club in Sunday's Cusworth 10k.

Milburn (33 minutes 59 seconds) finished runner-up to Penistone’s Scott Hinchcliffe (32 minutes 37 seconds) in the race which attracted a record 600-strong field.

Club-mate Simon Wright, fifth overall in a time of 36.05, won the men’s vet-50 race.

Jonathan Frary, sixth in a time of 36.37, also finished in the leading group.

Peter Badger, eighth in a time of 36.47, won the vet-40 with 12th placed Kev Newman (37.37) taking the honours in the vet-60 race.

Michael Pearson (16th in a time of 38.08) was the first Askern runner home. Chris Ramsey, 25th in a place of 38.44, was the pick of the Danum Harriers runners.

Nathan Murphy (Danum Harriers), 31st overall, won the U-20s race in a time of 39.13.

Doncaster’s Mick Page, 53rd overall, was runner-up to Newman in a time of 41.06.

Rick Wright (Doncaster), 128th overall, claimed third spot in the vet-55 race in a time of 46.53.

Rotherham’s Peter Neal (43.59) was third in the vet-60 race.

Kimberworth’s Ken Chapman (51.01) was second in the vet-70 race to Mick Casey (Barnsley RC) who finished 68th overall in a time of 42.44.

John Hewitt (Barnsley Harriers) was third in a time of 51.18.

Doncaster’s Nicola Devine, 32nd second overall in a time of 39.17, finished runner-up to Rebecca Winter (Ackworth) in the women’s open race.

Kelly Raven (Askern), 76th overall, finished second in the vet-35 race crossing the line in a time of 43.19. Barnsley’s Naomi Biddlestone (43.53) was third.

Barnsley’s Kerry Storrar (41.06) was second in the vet-40 race with Kimberworth’s Adelle Marsden (43.40) finishing third.

Danum’s Eleanor Bull, 161st overall in a time of 49.19, bagged second spot in the vet-45 race.

Barnsley’s Janie Kitching (51.45) took the honours in the vet-55 race. Rotherham’s Gillian Neal (52.37) and Penistone’s Sue Beevers (52.37) completed the top three.

Kingstone’s Julie Gough (1.02.57) was second in the vet-60 category. Vikki Skipper (Barnsley Harriers) was third (1.05.08).

Doncaster’s Rosemary Armstrong (1.00.24) was runner-up to Janet Heeley (Barnsley Harriers) in the vet-70 race.
