A YOUNG thug has been jailed after robbing a reveller of his mobile phone and wallet and in an unprovoked attack.
Jake Broadie targeted his 22-year-old victim as he was walking past the recreational ground in Thorne town centre following a night out.
The man suffered a bruised jaw, black eye and a chipped tooth in the assault.
Broadie, 21, of Bloom Hill Grove, Moorends, was arrested the day after the robbery which happened between 2.30am and 3am on September 24 last year.
He was jailed for two-and-a-half years at Sheffield Crown Court after he pleaded guilty to robbery.
Speaking after the case PC Andy Hotchkiss said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack carried out purely for personal gain.”
