Woman arrested with large knives in Frenchgate Centre to appear in court

A woman found carrying two large knives in Doncaster’s Frenchgate Centre is to appear in court.

The woman, 58, was seized yesterday and charged with two offences of possession of a bladed article to appear at Doncaster Magistrates Court.

She was arrested during a knife arch operation after police spotted her acting suspicously.

A spokesman for Frenchgate said: “On April 27, South Yorkshire Police conducted a knife arch operation within the Centre. We are fully supportive of this initiative, which has been running for a number of years.”
