'This was a frightening incident': Police probe launched into robbery of Doncaster woman at home

A woman suffered a head injury in a 'frightening’ robbery at her Doncaster home.

The woman, aged in her 50s, was also ‘incredibly shaken and distressed' by the incident at her home in Oak Grove, Armthorpe, at 11pm on Wednesday May 13.

South Yorkshire Police said two men forced their way into the woman’s home, damaging the property.

The woman hid in her bedroom while the men searched her home before they assaulted her and threatened her, taking her handbag and items of jewellery she was wearing.

PC Leanne Daffern said: “The victim in this robbery, a woman in her 50s, was taken to hospital to receive treatment for a head injury.

“Thankfully she was not more seriously injured but she is incredibly shaken and distressed as a result of the robbery.

“This was a frightening incident and we’re keen to identify those involved as soon as possible.

“Do you live locally and did you see or hear anything on Wednesday evening? Do you hold any information about those who may be responsible?”

One of the men was white, less than 5ft 6ins tall, younger than 30-years-old and skinny.

He was wearing grey clothing with red at the cuffs of the arms.

The other was also white and had dark hair. He was taller than the other man and not as skinny.
