Police are urging residents not to make it easy for thieves following a sneak-in burglary in the Belle Vue area of Doncaster.

A St Anne’s Road resident was gardening at the front of their house around 2.40pm on Tuesday, September 24, when a man removed sections of fence panelling to gain access through an insecure rear door.

The suspect stole an iPod before escaping on a blue bike with a thick frame, possibly a BMX, onto a track leading from Town Moor Golf Club to the ASDA supermarket off Gliwice Way.

Detectives investigating the burglary want to trace a man who is described as white, in his early 20s, of average build, 6ft tall with short brown thick wavy hair, seen wearing a bright yellow padded jacket with black hoops around the upper arms.
