VIDEO: Police release footage after stabbing in South Yorkshire town centre

Detectives have released CCTV footage of three people they would like to identify as part of their investigation into a stabbing last week.

At around 10.15pm on Wednesday, March 31, officers were called to reports that an 18-year-old man had been stabbed close to All Saints Square in Rotherham. They discovered that an 18-year-old woman has also been assaulted and had items stolen.

The man was taken to hospital with a stab wound to his abdomen. He is now recovering at home. The woman did not require medical treatment.

Detectives are now sharing this footage as they believe those captured could hold vital information about what happened.

They are believed to be in their late teens and mixed race, all wearing or dark-coloured clothing.

A spokesman said: “We know there were a number of people in the area at the time who might have seen something. If you can help, please contact us.”
