Two teenage attempted burglary suspects arrested after Doncaster chase drama

Two teenagers suspected to trying to break into homes were arrested in the early hours of today after a dramatic police chase.

The 17-year-old boys were arrested on suspicion of attempted burglary in Bessacarr this morning, after one report of suspicious behaviour at properties in Roxby Close, and another from St Wilfred’s Road.

Police from Doncaster Police Station on College Road were sent out to the area after receiving the reports.

Sgt Steve Roberts said: “Around 3am they were seen acting suspiciously and trying the door handle of a house. Officers quickly arrived on scene and following a brief foot chase the two were detained.”

“They will be interviewed this morning.

“Please ensure that as the warm weather (hopefully) approaches, to keep windows and doors locked, and valuables out of sight.”

Doncaster police set up a burglary unit last year to try to tackle the problem in the borough.
