A 19-year-old man and a teenage boy were among three suspects arrested yesterday, taking the total number of suspects quizzed over the murder so far to seven.

Nobody has yet been charged.

Three teenage girls are among those to have been quizzed.

The body of Jerry Appicella, 51, was found in his home in Craganour Place, Denaby Main, on Sunday morning after police received calls of concern for his welfare.

Detectives believe he was involved in an incident with a group of people in an alleyway leading to Hickelton Street, Denaby Main, on Tuesday December 3.

He walked home, where he died of head injuries.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 422 of December 14.
