Two residential streets targeted in latest Doncaster police operation against speeding

Police have targeted two residential streets near Doncaster town centre in operations to deal with speeding.

Community support officers from Doncaster Central Neighbourhood Policing Team ran both, in 20mph zones, on Thursday (April 29).

A spokesman said: “The first was on Manor Drive in Bennetthorpe. Over 25 vehicles were checked and only one was observed travelling over the limit

“The second location was on Beckett Road near to St Mary's Road, again this is a 20mph zone. More than 80 vehicles were checked a three vehicles were caught going over the speed limit.

“The four vehicles have been reported to the Safer Roads Partnership for processing.”

It is the latest operation near Bennethorpe this month.

Officers had previously set up on Bennetthorpe on April 6, after receiving complaints about a speeding problem there. Officers stating at the time that they were planning more operations in the area in the future.
