Two men flee Doncaster road smash after car crashes and bursts into flames

Officers were called to the scene in Adwick last night after receiving reports that a blue Jeep Cherokee had crashed.

Residents across Doncaster reported hearing ‘explosions’ from the scene of the smash.

A spokesman for South Yorkshire Police said: “We were called yesterday at 10.43pm to reports of a single vehicle collision in Church Lane, Adwick Le Street involving a blue Jeep Cherokee.

“It is reported that two men were seen running from the damaged vehicle, which later caught fire.

“Emergency services attended and officers remained at the scene to assist with the recovery of the vehicle.”

Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the Jeep prior to the incident is urged to contact police.

The spokesman added: “We would also like to hear from anyone who has dash cam footage. If you can help, please call 101 quoting incident number 1012 of 14 July.”
