Two Doncaster men have been charged with the murder of Jerry Accipella

Two men from Doncaster have been charged with murder in connection to the death of Jerry Accipella.

Mr Appicella’s body was found inside a property on Craganour Place in Denaby Main at around 9.45am on Sunday morning (15 December) after officers responded to calls of concerns for his welfare.

It is believed that Mr Appicella had been involved in an altercation with a group of people on Tuesday 3 December in an alleyway leading to Hickleton Street in Denaby Main prior to his death.

Enquiries suggest he then walked to his home address where his body was found last weekend.

A post mortem carried out on Monday 16 December revealed Mr Appicella died as a result of head injuries.

Today, Saturday 21 December, two men arrested earlier this week were charged with murder.

The men charged are Shae Nicholson, 19, of Lincoln Close, Denaby Main and Martel Brown, 23, of Colliery Road.

Both men have appeared before Doncaster Magistrates Court this morning (21 December) and been remanded in police custody.

During the week officers also arrested six juveniles who remain released under investigation or on police bail.

Police have reassured members of the community that they believe this to have been a targeted attack and there is no wider risk to the community.
