Two Doncaster men arrested after 'life-threatening' hit-and-run

Two men from Doncaster have been arrested after a hit-and-run left a 29-year-old man with life-threatening head injuries.

Police said they were called to a collision in Adwick-Upon-Dearne in the early hours of Saturday after a man was found with “serious injuries” on Sticking lane at around 2.55am.

They believe the man was walking downhill towards Adwick-upon-Dearne when he was involved in a collision with an unknown vehicle, which is thought to have fled towards Mexborough.The man was taken to hospital with life-threatening head injuries.Two men, aged 24 and 22, have been arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving, failing to stop at a collision and driving while unfit through drink or drugs. They are currently on bail. A vehicle has also been recovered.Officers would like to speak to anyone with CCTV or dashcam footage who captured the moments before, or after, the collision.
