All three had been in a white Renault Megane estate, which was damaged, and suffered cuts to their heads.

They had been out looking for a suspected stolen motorcycle. We sent several police cars to the incident, around 4pm, and ambulances attended.

An investigation is ongoing, but we still don’t know exactly what happened. There have have been no arrests, but we would appeal for anyone with information to come forwards. Call 101 or Crimestoppers quoting incident 621 of March 1.

While that incident kept us busy on Sunday, a few days earlier we targeted Askern for an operation after we attended a meeting with Askern Neighbouhood Watch on February 20, where residents raised concerns about crime in their town.

The operation on February 28 saw us look at antisocial behaviour and nuisance vehicles, with a high visibility presence. It saw two people stopped and searched, and one arrest for cannabis possession.

Earlier in the month we ran a day of action over nuisance bikers in Askern but it coincided with Storm Ciara, so there were no nuisance bikers out there. We plan to repeat the action.

We are also going to be holding regular drop-ins with a PSCO in the town, and we are looking how we can work closer with neighbouring police forces, North Yorkshire, West Yorkshire and Humberside, where suspects are crossing borders between our forces’ areas.

The last few weeks also saw a suspected shoplifter arrested in Thorne on Feburary 21, and charged with 34 officences. He was also charged with public order offences, and threatening people with a bladed or sharp article, having been accused of threaterning people with a syringe.

That suspect is not the only person thought to be responsible for shoplifting in Thorne, and we are working with Shopwatch on the issue.

Finally, Moorends has also seen us take action over speeding. We ran checks at Marshland Road and King Edward Road, with 75 vehicles speeds checked. Three of those drivers will receive speeding fines.
