Thieves steal £10,000 worth of tools from Doncaster facility for people with learning difficulties

Police have issued an appeal for information after thieves stole £10,000 worth of tools and equipment from an accommodation provider for adults with learning disabilities.

The offenders reportedly broke into a lockup at Hesley Village on Stripe Road on the night of 12 August, stealing garden tools and machinery. Items stolen include hedge trimmers, leaf blowers, pressure washers and drills. A trailer and a variety of workwear and clothing was also taken, police said.

The offenders are believed to have cut through wire fencing along neighbouring fields to gain access, before drilling through metal shutters to the building. They are also reported to have forced entry to a number of other sheds and outbuildings.
