Thieves leave Moorends without phone and internet connection

A DONCASTER VILLAGE has been struck by yet another incident of cable theft leaving homes on the Ferndale estate area in Moorends were left without telephones and internet access for two days.

The phones stopped working after a quantity of cable was stolen from Marshlands Lane some time on Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning. BT engineers are currently working to fix the problem.

South Yorkshire Police are investigating the incident and are following up sightings of a van suspected to be connected to the crime.
