Suspended sentence for South Yorkshire man caught carrying a knife

A South Yorkshire man has been given a suspended prison sentence after he was caught carrying a knife, court records show.

Showan Ali Ismail appeared before Doncaster Magistrates’ Court on Monday, December 21, where he admitted the offence.

The 34-year old, of Queen’s Street, Barnsley, was caught carrying the blade on November 17, 2019, records show.

He was given a 12-week prison term, suspended for 12 months, and must also complete 60 hours of unpaid work.

He must also pay £85 costs and a £122 victim surcharge.
