Stabbing victim remains in hospital as hunt goes on for Doncaster attackers

A man stabbed at a Doncaster town centre block of flats remains in hospital today while the hunt goes on for his attackers.

The 38-year-old suffered stab wounds to his leg and shoulder after being attacked in an incident on the Balby Bridge flats estate yesterday morning.

Police were called to Methley House in Grove Place at around 11.40am following reports of a stabbing.

South Yorkshire Police said today that the hunt for those responsible is ongoing.

A spokesman said: “The victim is still in hospital and remains in a stable condition. No arrests have been made and enquiries continue.”

Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large number of police vehicles and ‘armed’ police patrolling the estate, with up to ten cars spotted by those at the scene.

Others reported seeing the air ambulance landing nearby following the incident on the estate, which borders Cleveland Street on the edge of Doncaster town centre.
