A stolen dog has been reunited with her owners after a six-day search in and around Sheffield.

Springer Spaniel Lily was in the back of a red 67-plate Audi A3 saloon when the vehicle was stolen from The Moor area of Sheffield city centre on Wednesday, December 23.

After a six-day search, Lily was foung last night and reunited with her overjoyed owners.

South Yorkshire Police has issued a photograph of Lily after she was tracked down.

The force said: “For all lovers of stories with happy endings…keep reading!

“Yesterday we issued an appeal for information about Lily the springer spaniel, who was in her owner’s car when it was stolen in Sheffield before Christmas.

“Well, last night, someone spotted our appeal and provided the piece of the jigsaw we needed to get Lily back safe and sound.

“PC Ledger and PC Gould from Ecclesfield had the lovely job of returning her to her owners.”
