Sheffield Magistrates’ Court heard on June 24 how Paul Wakefield, aged 51, of Albert Road, Mexborough, had been made subject to a 12-month NMO when he swore at his ex-partner near his home as she was walking her dog.

Chantel Lowry-Green, prosecuting, said Wakefield’s ex had been near Victoria Road adjacent to Albert Road when Wakefield swore at her.

Zawar Shah, defending, said Wakefield had been diagnosed with an irregular heartbeat and had felt too ill to attend the trial but he failed to inform the court.
