Viewers of last night’s 999: What’s Your Emergency? saw South Yorkshire Police officers called to Tiger Works in West Street in the city centre following an attack on a young man who had challenged another clubber who had sexually assaulted his girlfriend by grabbing her breasts.

The couple – named only as Luke and Anastasiya – were filmed outside the nightspot in the series which shows officers in Doncaster and Sheffield dealing with crime and their impact on victims.

In the incident, filmed last year before the coronavirus pandemic, PCs Tom Connor and Claire Foster were seen responding to the incident, discovering Luke outside the club with cuts and bruises and a bloodied face.

Cameras showed Luke being taken to hospital following the attack, with a voiceover at the end of the Channel 4 programme revealing police were unable to identify the attacker.
