Rawmarsh cyclist coshed over head by thugs armed with table legs

A 42-year old cyclist suffered head injuries when he was attacked by two men.

It is believed the men used table legs to launch the assault in Dale Road, Rawmarsh.

Police are appealing for witnesses along with any information about the July 23, 6pm incident.

The 42-year-old is understood to have been cycling along Dale Road when a man jumped in front of him, causing him to swerve and nearly fall.

Following a confrontation, the cyclist was hit about the head by the two men.

A 33-year-old man was arrested at the scene and charged with assault. He has been remanded in custody.

The second man fled. He is described as being white, about 17 to 18- years-old, of slim build with short hair. He was wearing a grey zip-up tracksuit top.
