Post mortem carried out after Doncaster man found dead in hotel

A forensic post mortem examination carried out after a man was found dead in a Doncaster hotel has established there are no suspicous circumstances around his death.

Officers were called to a hotel in the Lakeside area of the town at around 2pm on Friday, December 18 following a call made to the Yorkshire Ambulance Service that a 43-year-old man had died.

An investigation was launched to ascertain the exact circumstances around his death, which was initially treated by South Yorkshire Police as suspicious.

However, a forensic post mortem examination carried out today (Sunday, December 20) has now established that there were no suspicious causes to his death.

The man’s loved ones are being supported at this time by specialist family liaison officers.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said today that a 41-year-old man who was initially arrested on suspicion of murder on Friday had now been released from the investigation.
