Police say two cars involved in Doncaster crash which saw men flee soaked in blood

Police have said that two cars were involved in a serious Doncaster road smash which saw men flee from the scene soaked in blood.

Emergency services were called to Balby Road last night after a BMW ploughed into railings near to Balby flyover.

Residents reported men soaked in blood fleeing from the scene.

Now police have said that two vehicles were involved in the incident.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said: “We were called yesterday at 11.04pm to reports of a two-vehicle collision in Balby.

“It is reported that a black Range Rover was involved in a collision with a grey BMW outside the Jet garage in Balby Road.

“The driver and passengers of the Range Rover fled the scene.

“Emergency services attended and officers remained at the scene to assist with the vehicle recovery.

“Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw the vehicles prior to the incident is urged to contact police.

“We would also like to hear from anyone who has dash cam footage. If you can help, please call 101 quoting incident number 1275 of 13 June.”

Residents living near to the scene of the smash reported hearing a large bang and then saw three occupants running away from the scene of the crash.

One said: “I was just about to fall asleep when I heard it.

"Three occupants all ran from the scene. The driver who was following said they were covered in blood as they exited the vehicle.”

By the time emergency services arrived, the occupants were nowhere to be seen, another eyewitness said.
