Police probe into murder of Doncaster woman continues after two arrests

A murder probe was launched when officers were called to a property on Main Street, Mexborough, at 12.50pm and found the body of a woman inside.

Two men, aged 27 and 33, were arrested at the scene on suspicion of murder and remained in police custody last night.

The property was sealed off and under police guard yesterday while crime scene examination work was carried out as well as enquiries in the local community.

The cause of death has not yet been revealed.

South Yorkshire Police said: “Enquiries are ongoing to ascertain the exact circumstances surrounding the woman's death and a cordon remains in place at the scene while officers continue their work.”
