Police probe launched after woman ‘forced into car’ by two men and abducted in Doncaster
A police probe has been launched into the abduction of a woman in Doncaster.
South Yorkshire Police said detectives in Doncaster are investigating reports that a woman was forced into a car in the Intake area on Thursday.
It was claimed that at 11.25pm, a woman was seen being forced into a car by two men in Kenmare Crescent.
The car, a dark-coloured saloon, then reversed from Kenmare Crescent and travelled onto Sandringham Road before turning right onto Evelyn Avenue.
DC Rachel Young, investigating the incident, said it is believed that those involved may be known to each other.
She said CCTV footage has been examined but detectives still want to hear from anyone who may have dash cam footage of the incident or car involved.
She said: “We are still looking into the circumstances surrounding this incident. From reviewing nearby CCTV footage, we have reason to believe that the people involved may be known to each other.
“Our first priority is to carry out a welfare check on the woman in question and I would like to appeal to her directly to get in touch; please contact police as a matter of urgency, and let us know you’re ok.
“If you witnessed this incident on Thursday, or hold any information that could help with our ongoing enquiries, please get in touch. We are especially keen to hear from anyone with dash cam footage.
“Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident 1004 of 23 January 2020.
