A police probe into a murder in Doncaster is continuing this morning after more arrests.

A 19-year-old man and two teenage boys were arrested in a series of police raids yesterday, taking the total number of suspects quizzed over the murder so far to seven.

Nobody has yet been charged.

The body of Jerry Appicella, 51, was found in his home in Craganour Place, Denaby Main, on Sunday morning after police received calls of concern for his welfare.

Detectives believe he was involved in an incident with a group of people in an alleyway leading to Hickelton Street, Denaby Main, on Tuesday December 3.

He walked home, where he died of head injuries.

Witnesses or anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 422 of December 14.
