Police probe after man turns up at Doncaster hospital with stab wounds

A police probe is under way into a stabbing in Doncaster.

The 24-year-old turned up at Doncaster Royal Infirmary seeking treatment for stab wounds to his arm last night.

Police were called when he allegedly made threats to hospital staff and he was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

He remains in custody today.

A short time earlier, at around 8.45pm, officers were deployed to Hamilton Road, Hyde Park, after reports of men fighting in the street.On arrival at the scene, the group had dispersed but a 35-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.The area was cordoned off last night and into the early hours of this morning while officers carried out enquiries at the scene to try to establish exactly what happened and who was involved.

Witnesses to the fight should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555111.
