Police officer thanks South Yorkshire public for 'fantastic' support

PC Damien Bellamy from South Yorkshire Police said the assistance the public provide in helping publicise appeals is often “vital” in helping locate people and bring them to safety.
He said: “The support, namely the engagement and sharing of the appeals on social media and beyond, has been fantastic and hugely appreciated by myself and the force more widely.

Hide AdAccording to the Missing People charity, 180,000 people go missing every year.
PC Bellamy added: “I want the public to know that their help is acknowledged and is certainly appreciated, we are more effective when we work together, and the public are part of that.
“I’d urge you to keep sharing our appeals and know that your support does make a difference to our investigations, thank you.”
