Police launch probe as windows smashed as Doncaster house pelted with bricks

Police in Doncaster have launched an investigation after windows were smashed when a house was pelted with bricks.

Police were called to Elm Place in Armthorpe at around 10.30am on Tuesday after reports of criminal damage.

A spokesman said: “The caller reported that unknown men had approached the property and used bricks to break the windows.

“Enquiries are on-going to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident and identify those involved.

Anyone with information is asked to call 101 quoting incident number 297 of 22 September 2020.

The street is known internationally as the birthplace of former England captain and manager and Liverpool and Newcastle United ace Kevin Keegan.

The popular football icon, now 69, was born on St Valentine’s Day 1951 at 32 Elm Place, to English parents of part Irish ancestry and he lived in the house while attending his local school, St. Peter’s High School in nearby Cantley.
