Police investigation launched after shots fired at Doncaster house

Detectives have launched an investigation after shots were fired at a house in Doncaster in the early hours of this morning.

At about 2.35am, it is reported that a dark coloured estate car, driving along Lutterworth Drive, Adwick-le-Street, stopped outside of a property and an occupant fired a weapon at the address.

Damage was caused to a car on the drive and to the downstairs window of the property. The occupants of the house, a couple and their young child, were at home at the time but were not injured.

Detective Sergeant Lee Szedzielarz investigating, said: “Enquiries are underway to establish why this property was targeted and identify those involved.

“We believe the suspects left the area heading towards Red House Lane and I’d like to appeal to anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious at around that time.”
