The search for a missing Doncaster woman has continued at a nature reserve, following the discovery of CCTV footage from the area which places the 27-year-old at the beauty spot on the day of her disappearance.
The CCTV footage shows Magdelana on the grounds of Potteric Carr at approximately 2pm on the September 30 - the last day she was seen before she was reported missing.
Superintendent Neil Thomas, from Doncaster District Police, said: “Since we confirmed the footage was Magdelana we have begun to search Potteric Carr Nature Reserve and the surrounding area.
“This is large expanse of land made up of wooded and wetland areas and we are using specialist officers to ensure that our search is systematic and thorough.
“As you can appreciate this is an extremely difficult time for Magdelana’s family and while they are being supported and updated by officers they have asked for their privacy to be respected.
“I expect the searches to continue throughout today and they may last a number of days as we work to provide Magdelana’s family with an answer as to what happened after Magdelana left her mum’s home in Hexthorpe two weeks ago.”
Magdelana was last seen around 1pm on Wednesday, September 30 leaving her family’s home in Cookson Street, Doncaster, where she said she was going into the town centre.
In the time since Magdelana was reported missing, police issued a national appeal with the Missing People charity and conducted a series of media appeals and press conferences. This resulted in a number of possible sightings, which were all investigated, but were not Magdelana.
“The public have been really helpful in our search and now that we know Magdelana was in the area around Potteric Carr on Wednesday (October 30), I would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to contact police,” added Supt Thomas.
Magdelana is white around 5ft 6ins tall, slim build, with blue eyes and long light brown hair.
She was last seen wearing a grey coat with blue skinny jeans, a blue t-shirt, a long red scarf and carrying a black coloured leather handbag.
Magdelana also wears glasses.
