Police appeal after prisoner with links to Bradford escapes from Doncaster jail

Police are appealing for information after a prisoner at HMP Hatfield in Doncaster escaped on Saturday.

Shortly before 10pm on 19 December, prison officers discovered 28-year-old Jose Blanco-Medina had fled after a fire door had been forced open.

Blanco-Medina is part-way through a three-year sentence for causing death by dangerous driving in November 2017.

He is described as being around 5ft 8in tall and has links to Riddlesden and Bradford in West Yorkshire.

Mr Walker suffered catastrophic injuries in the collision.

Blanco-Medina – a business owner who had been caught speeding just a few weeks before the fatal collision – subsequently pleaded guilty to causing death by dangerous driving at Bradford Crown Court.
