Police appeal after attempted robbery on Doncaster driveway

Police have issued an e-fit of a man they want to trace after an attempted robbery in Doncaster.

It comes after thieves tried to take a van that was parked on a driveway with the engine running.

A police spokesman said: “It is reported that on 1 April at 11.35am a man working on Thorne Road in Wheatley Hills left his van, a white Citroen Dispatch on the driveway of a property with the ignition running.

“When the man returned to his van, he has seen an unknown man sat in the driver’s seat with his hands on the steering wheel. A second unknown man was outside of the van.

“The victim has approached his van and following an altercation both men fled the scene.”

Officers want to trace the man in the e-fit appeal, described as white, around 5ft 10ins tall, medium build and aged in his 20s.
