Police and Crime Panel to discuss the future of Humberside Police

Humberside Police and Crime Panel (PCP) will discuss the future of Humberside Police at its next meeting on Monday December 21 with Justine Curran, Chief Constable of Humberside Police and Matthew Grove, Humberside Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).

The meeting is being held at Humber Bridge Board offices, Ferriby Road, Hessle at 10am.

The Chief Constable and Police and Crime Commissioner will be questioned by the PCP about Humberside Police’s future following its restructure – six months on.

Issues that the PCP will raise include:

The decrease in neighbourhood policing

Issues with 101 calls not being answered

As well as the restructure, the PCP will discuss the recent PEEL (Police Efficiency, Effectiveness and Legitimacy) Police Efficiency 2015 report for Humberside Police, which was overall inadequate.

The PCP will aim to find out the reasoning behind this and what has been done to make improvements since the PEEL report was issued.

Councillor Jon Evison, Chair of Humberside Police and Crime Panel, said: “We are keen to get answers from the Chief Constable and the Police and Crime Commissioner as to what the future of Humberside Police looks like. As well as what they are doing and intend to do to improve the service for residents. Many issues have been raised recently around the service Humberside Police provides and we aim to get responses from those responsible.”
