A number of police cars and ambulances are understood to be at an address in Larch Drive, Armthorpe.
Eyewitnesses have reported seeing up to ten emergency vehicles at the scene which is near to the Elachi restaurant on Mill Street.
Unconfirmed reports say a man was seen handcuffed and pinned to the ground by officers.
