But we had a serious incident in Bentley on February 26, at an address on Askern Road. We found about 40 people at a house party there. Some ran away when we arrived, some became abusive, and two assaulted one of our officers.

Using bodycam footage we have been able to identify those suspected of the assault and those suspected of organising the gathering. It will go to court and they could face a £10,000 fine. Fortunately there is no lasting damage to the officer who was assaulted.

Most people in this area have been sticking to the rules.

We will receive a boost in the Doncaster West neighbourhood team in the next couple of weeks. We are getting four new officers for the Mexborough and Conisbrough team, taking their numbers up from five to nine.

This should put us in a strong position to take neighbourhood policing forward in this area.

We have also seen some significant arrests recently. In Adwick, we arrested two people on March 3, for a burglary on East Avenue, Woodlands on March 1. There had been a number of burglaries in that area.

We saw a number of incidents elsewhere.

In Mexborough, a man was charged with possession of class A drugs after a vehicle search on Stone View Court. The next day a woman was warned after cannabis was found in a raid on a house at Garden Street; and a man was arrested for possession and intent to supply class A drugs after a raid on Orchard Close.

In Conisbrough, a man was charged with possession of drugs after a stop and search on Sandbeck Street on February 26. A man was arrested for intent to supply at Craganour Place on March 17; and a man was warned over possession of cannabis after a raid at Athelstane Road on March 18.

Edlington saw a man arrested after a raid on a cannabis set up on Nelson Road on March 6; and 12 cannabis plants were seized and a man arrested after a raid at Grosvenor Crescent, Bentley.
