'My heart is shattered': Floral tributes left after killing of Lewis Williams in Doncaster shooting
Floral tributes have been left close to the spot where a young man was shot dead in Doncaster.
Bouquets of flowers, candles and bottles of Desperado beer have been left on Wath Road, Mexborough, near to a police crime scene cordon where 20-year-old Lewis Williams was gunned down on Monday afternoon.
He was shot close to the Farmfoods store at around 4.30pm and despite the efforts of paramedics who battled to revive him, Lewis was pronounced dead at the scene.
A message on one of the cards on the bouquets reads: “My heart is shattered.”
Three arrests have been made over the shooting so far, with a 20-year-old man and two boys – aged 16 and 17 – all held on suspicion of murder.
They remained in police custody last night.
CCTV footage is being examined and door-to-door enquiries are being carried out as detectives piece together the circumstances surrounding the murder.
