Metals unit blaze

STAFF at a metals factory in Manvers were evacuated in the early hours of Tuesday morning after a fire broke out.

Workers at Metalysis at Farfield Park, Manvers Way, were escorted out of the building by firefighters at about 5.35am.

A spokesperson for South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said the blaze was started accidentally in an oil heater.

Crews from Dearne Fire Station used hose reels to put the fire out and left after about an hour.
