Man taken to hospital after being stabbed on Doncaster town centre housing estate
A man has been taken to hospital after being stabbed in a Doncaster town centre housing estate this morning.
Police were called to the address in the St James Street estate shortly before lunchtime.
A South Yorkshire Police spokesman said that officers were responding to reports that a man, 38, had been stabbed at an address in Grove Place, Balby Bridge.
A spokesman said: “Police were called by colleagues at the ambulance service at 11.40am this morning with reports that a man had been stabbed at an address on Grove Place.
"A 38-year-old man was taken to hospital with stab wounds to his leg and shoulder.
"He remains in hospital in a stable condition.
"Enquiries are ongoing and no arrests have yet been made.”
Eyewitnesses reported seeing a large number of police vehicles and ‘armed’ police patrolling the estate, in particular, near to Methley House, one of the towerblocks on the estate, recently named as the ‘most deprived in Yorkshire.’
