Man hurt in slash attack

Police are appealing for information after a man was slashed in broad daylight in Armthorpe, Doncaster.

The 52-year-old was walking from Almond Avenue on to Beech Road when he was attacked for no apparent reason, detectives said. A weapon was used, causing a slash wound to the man’s back, and he needed hospital treatment.

It is believed three men were involved in the attack, all wearing dark clothes and hooded tops.

“We believe this to be unprovoked and are keen to hear from anybody who may have witnessed the incident or have information that could help,” said a spokesman.

Anyone with information about the attack, at around 6pm on Saturday, July 30, should call 0114 220 2020 and ask for PC Della Leasley.
