Man arrested over Doncaster rape

Officers investigating the rape of a 24-year-old woman in Doncaster have arrested a man in connection with the incident.

The 27-year-old man was arrested in the Doncaster area on the night of Wednesday, October 21 on suspicion of rape and serious sexual assault, say South Yorkshire Police.

A spokesperson for the force said: “Officers would like to reassure the public that no other persons are being sought in connection with this investigation and the male remains in custody at this time.”

The 27-year-old man was arrested on Wednesday night.
