A man has been arrested after an allegation of rape near Doncaster town centre.

Police say they were called out yesterday morning to a residential street near Doncaster town centre following reports of concerns for safety.

Officers attended the scene at 8am yesterday and are now in the process of carrying out investigations into the incident.

A statement from South Yorkshire Police said: “On arrival a woman told officers that she had been raped.

“A 54-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of rape.”
