A man was arrested after police surrounded a house in Doncaster.

Police swooped on the home this morning (Thursday, August 13) on Fifth Avenue in the Woodlands area.

Specialist resources, including negotiators, attended as there was information to suggest concerns for the welfare of a man at that property.

The road was closed as a precautionary measure while officers dealt with the incident.

A South Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “A man 33-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of affray.

“Nobody was injured.”
