How South Yorkshire Police are planning for potential coronavirus outbreak in Sheffield

Police chiefs in South Yorkshire have revealed that plans are in place for policing the county in the event of a major coronavirus outbreak.

With the number of confirmed cases in Britain rising daily, South Yorkshire Police said the force is ‘confident’ in its ‘preparedness’ for a major spread of the virus.

In a statement, the force said: “We have extensive plans in place for a range of scenarios. These are regularly exercised and staff are trained in moving to these plans at short notice.
