'He's on it all the time!' Quad bike seized in Doncaster after user shopped to police

A quad biker who told Doncaster police it was his first time on the road was shopped when a passer by told them: “He’s on it all the time!”

South Yorkshire Police’s Off Road Team seized the quad in Conisbrough yesterday after spotting it had no number plates.

A spokesman said: “After a pincer movement, the rider was initially trapped but despite this accelerated to try and get away, nearly running officers over.

“One of the team managed to grab hold of the male’s wrist and the other officer killed the engine.

“Thankfully no one was hurt. The quad was not insured and was seized. The rider was dealt with for traffic offences.

He told officers, ‘honest, its the first time I’ve used it on the road,” only for someone to come out of a nearby shop, asking officers: “Have you seized that?”

When police replied ‘yes’, the passer by responded: “He’s out on it all the time!”
