First pictures from crime scene reveal house under police guard after death of Doncaster boy, 2
A house at the centre of a murder probe is under police guard today following the death of two-year-old Doncaster boy.
Police sealed off the house in Bosworth Road, Adwick, earlier this week and still have the property under guard this morning while detectives continue to investigate the death of a two-year-old boy, who fell ill at the property and later died.
Paramedics were called to the house on Wednesday, January 8 after the youngster went into cardiac arrest and he was taken to hospital but could not be saved.
He died yesterday and a murder investigation was immediately launched.
A post mortem examination was due to have been carried out last night but the results have not yet been released.
A man, aged 36 and a woman, 32, were arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody this morning.
Detective Chief Inspector James Axe, the senior investigating officer, said: "The loss of any life is tragic, and the death of this little boy is undeniably devastating. Our thoughts are with those who are affected and our specialist officers will continue to support them.
"We have a dedicated team of officers assigned to this investigation. Two people are in custody and we are working hard to establish the exact circumstances leading up to this child's death."
There is expected to be an increased police prescence in Adwick in the wake of the death.
Anyone with information should call South Yorkshire Police on 101 and quote incident number 293 of January 8.
